There are so many things in our daily life to be grateful for. Even simple things. Like clean cotton sheets.

Milagros.

I grew up in Texas. And Texas, being on the border, is heavily influenced by the Mexican culture. In many of the Catholic churches ,there's a wall full of milagros. Milagros are icons representing wishes to be fulfilled. The fulfilled wish is a milagro, a miracle.

Milagros are votive offerings. The are tiny metal medals representing various body parts, human figures, animals or objects. Milagros , even before arriving in the new world, were votive offerings common throughout the centuries in the Mediterranean. In classical Greece , gold or silver votives were offered in hopes of saving someone from danger. A tradtion carried on even by the Romans.

Milagros are also called "dijes" and somethimes are made into jewelry. And worn for protection

And what about trying to make milagros out of alluminum cans? Like beer can milagros. Make them then hang them on your home altar.
