There are so many things in our daily life to be grateful for. Even simple things. Like clean cotton sheets. |

Milagros. I grew up in Texas. And Texas, being on the border, is heavily influenced by the Mexican culture. In many of the Catholic churches ,there's a wall full of milagros. Milagros are icons representing wishes to be fulfilled. The fulfilled wish is a milagro, a miracle. Milagros are votive offerings. The are tiny metal medals representing various body parts, human figures, animals or objects. Milagros , even before arriving in the new world, were votive offerings common throughout the centuries in the Mediterranean. In classical Greece , gold or silver votives were offered in hopes of saving someone from danger. A tradtion carried on even by the Romans. Milagros are also called "dijes" and somethimes are made into jewelry. And worn for protection |

And what about trying to make milagros out of alluminum cans? Like beer can milagros. Make them then hang them on your home altar. |
